10 Months Later

If you’re still visiting this blog, you know that it hasn’t been updated for the past 9-10 months. Back in January, I posted a review of the year 2024, just like I did 10 years earlier in 2014. I had just restarted posting in #EVERYDAY again at the beginning of 2024, after a long break, from sometime in 2018 to the end of 2023, when I finally decided that it was time to get back on my bullshit as they say.

I did a whole year of #EVERYDAY in 2024, in most cases starting with the original file from 2014, as a tribute to my first year of #EVERYDAY. It was interesting to have another chance at something creatively with 10 more years of experience behind me. Some things got better. Others got worse. Some were really frustrating the first time but not the second time. Others were easy the first time and became what felt like an impossible challenge the second time. But eventually the year ended and I was still going. I wasn’t happy with everything but I was really happy with some of them. So I did the end of the year post again and just kept going.

I thought I was going to be updating the site on a more regular basis in 2025. And I started out pretty good, in the #EVERYDAY section at least. There hasn’t been much activity in any other areas of the site, but I posted an #EVERYDAY every day until April 29th. This is the one I posted that day:

It’s named after this guy named “Matsuflex” from VH1’s Tool Academy (2009). Don’t look it up. Unless you want to. But it’s probably not worth it. I used that name because it was the name I used in 2014 (and this was created from that original 2014 file) because something that day randomly reminded me of the existence of a guy named Matsuflex from a TV show I hadn’t thought about (at the time) in 5 years. If you do want more information than that, you should probably start here.

Anyway, I’m not sure why that was the day I stopped. I don’t think something happened that day. I don’t think I planned to stop that day. I probably had at least 1 or 2 more days to catch up because I had fallen behind as I often did. But I would always catch up. But then it went for a couple days. It started to feel like work. Something wasn’t feeling right. I was burning myself out without realizing it (as I’ve done many times before)and knew that I needed a break. I haven’t posted one since then and I haven’t even really felt bad about it. Sometimes life just has other ideas.

Some other stuff has happened in the last 10 months too. Stuff that I knew was coming, and had been ruminating about for most of my adult life, but that I thought would take longer than 10 months to arrive after this latest transfer of power. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, but I think it’s surprising to a lot of people just how many self-described proud Americans seem to be satisfied with every new twist and turn in this new reality show called “What if the United States Federal Government Was Being Run By the People Who Enabled and Collaborated with Jeffery Epstein to Break the Law and Cover Up Their Crimes and are Now Desperately Trying to Prevent the Release of the Evidence That Would Prove Their Claimed “Innocence” Because They Want You To Be Mad At Democrats Because Hospitals Won’t Just Let People Die When They Find Out That The Person is an Illegal Immigrant”.

I’ve never really been a democrat and I’m certainly not a republican. If you still think you’re one of those things you should really consider a reevaluation. As far as I can see, both parties have completely failed to deliver anything of real lasting value to the American people in my entire life (I was born in the late 70s). And if you look at everything that’s happened over the last 50 years, you’d really have to be delusional to believe that either party has any interest in doing what’s actually good for the average American anymore.

You know you don’t need any more evidence. It’s obvious. That’s why they’re so desperate for you to be angry about everything all the time. So you won’t stop for a minute to wonder why things never seem to get any better or why that might be. They know you’re angry because they know they’re not actually helping you. And you’re helping them get away with it because you think they’re going to get you what you deserve by taking it away from someone else, when the reality is they’re taking what we all deserve for themselves and have no plans of changing that no matter who you vote for, if you’re allowed to vote again.

You have every right to be angry. They’ve been screwing you over every step of the way and pretending that they’re fighting for you. But what have they delivered? How is your life better?

More importantly, do you feel optimistic about the future? If the answer is yes, think about why that is. Is it because things have started to get better already? Or does that future depend on your elected officials upholding their end of a promise that has yet to be realized? Does it depend on you looking the other way for “the greater good”? Does it depend on you continuing to struggle to put food on the table while they “fight” against “your enemies”?

Is all that good stuff only going to come after things get worse? Are you convinced that things always have to get worse before they get better? Can you think of a time in America when things actually got better after they got worse without the election of new leadership? Are you convinced that will somehow start happening now? Are you prepared to defend the idea that it’s too “dangerous” to hold elections because of rampant “left-wing violence”, as if that’s an actual problem?

How long will this all take? Is this all going according to plan? If so, whose plan is it? And who benefits from carrying it out? Are you confident that it’s you? How will you know that it’s working?

Do you feel like you’re getting a reasonable report of what’s actually happening? Do you think only one side is acting in bad faith? I know some of you do. So, maybe you’re right. Maybe the democrats are really eating babies and worshipping satan and republicans really are chosen by God to deliver us all from evil. Do you really believe that? Or do you believe that both sides are corrupt and you just want to take down the one you think is worse? All I ask is: why not both?

Think about this: There are 300+ million people in this country. We can elect anyone we want. We don’t have to pick a side, we’re all already on the same side and want a lot of the same things. Stop believing the bullshit idea that you have to vote red or blue. Vote for people who acknowledge what you can see with your own eyes and have a plan to do something about it. Vote for people who want to make things better for all the people who live here, not just the ones they agree with.

If you believe in “America first”, stop voting for people who help corporations instead of their customers. Stop voting for people who help foreign governments instead of their own citizens. Stop voting for people who blame our problems on the people who see how great America can be and just want a chance at a better life here. Stop voting for people who promise the revenge you seek instead of a plan for how to actually be “great”.

Stop voting for people who listen to billionaires. About anything. They don’t represent you and they don’t want anything that’s good for you unless it’s also really good for them. And if nothing they want is good for you, they’ll convince you that it is and that it’s everyone else’s fault but theirs that you’re not getting more.

Billionaires can exist. Fine. They can (probably) even be good people. But they shouldn’t have any more influence on elections than someone making minimum wage. Unfortunately for all of us they can do pretty much anything they want and they don’t even have to tell you what they’re doing. And they take advantage of that. And then they pay to change the rules again when they need to. And they won’t stop doing it because it’s really good for them and really bad for you. And who is going to stop them?

They know that the better it is for them, the worse it is for you, and they’ve accepted it. You didn’t “work as hard” as they did. You didn’t “earn” billions of dollars like they did. That’s not their problem. They did everything “right” and got rewarded. And now they have the power to make sure other people can’t do the same thing.

“Billionaires make their money selling people ladders to pull up behind them that come with free buckets of hot oil to pour on the people below.”

I’m not even going to comment on the “religious” aspect of all of this, but just ask yourself this: do you really think there’s a god who is all powerful and loves all of humankind but also needs to “choose” someone like Donald Trump, who is clearly not and has never been a religious person, to carry out their earthly plan to make sure that anyone who doesn’t believe is severely punished and silenced and possibly removed from society? History shows that people from many different Christian societies believed something similar. And yet there’s still work to be done? They were all “chosen by god” but couldn’t get the job done? How many times does this have to happen in the name of “god” for you to realize that it’s just an excuse for taking away people’s rights and controlling their lives.

See, the cool thing about logic is that if you’re willing to accept the truth when you find it, everything makes a lot more sense. If you don’t accept the truth, you can compensate for that in the logic, but it always makes things more complicated. So when things are complicated, there’s a good chance there’s some underlying truth that is completely obfuscated behind that complexity.

In many cases, people admit this: they don’t have the information they need to reveal the correct answer and the case is considered unsolved. But in other cases, people hide evidence or information that they know to be true in order to provide a different “correct” answer. That’s where things have to get complicated. When an important variable is left out of an equation, the only way to solve it is to get creative and somehow “find” that value through some other (usually convoluted) means.

You’ll see this pattern everywhere once you know how it works. It’s dangerous because it presents a explanation for something that seems plausible on the surface but only requires certain previously held beliefs to just accept as true without really thinking about it. They give you the answer you need and it’s framed how they want (to their benefit). They all do this. Your job is not to blame a side for doing it more than the other or with more harmful intentions. It’s to recognize the pattern and reject it completely.

If everyone can stop accepting bullshit and start demanding real answers, they won’t have a choice. They can’t do any of this without you. Remember that.

And most importantly, remember Matsuflex from Tool Academy, the namesake of my #EVERYDAY from April 29, 2025 (and 2014).
